TestDisk is a free console based software you can use to easily recover lost data from your hard disk partitions.
TestDisk is basically aimed to recover lost disk partitions and make non-bootable disks bootable.
It has a console based interface which gives you option to log the changes you have made to the system and partition table to a text file when it starts.
TestDisk easily recovers FAT, FAT32 and NTFS boot sector from its backup. It can also rebuild FAT32, FAT16, NTFS boot sector. It can also fix MFT using MFT Mirror, locate ext2/ext3 Backup SuperBlock.
